One of the first days of relative freedom, when the first pandemic lockdown ended, was a visit to Hyde Park in London with a friend and her son. Out on the water, the huge flocks of birds encircling us for food, felt menacing. It was a very hot day and the birds were glowing against the dark water.
I have occasionally documented some of my favourite landscapes over the years, as paintings or drawings but started developing this more in 2024.

Awe inspiring rocks on a remote beach in Tasmania, which I visited in 1996, have long stayed in my memory. Gently worn into soft shapes over time, with a tideline which hasn’t changed for millennia and surrounded by fine white sand.
